where to begin?

We have several projects in the works right now, but I think a brief walk through our home is a good way to start. The front door is a project in itself. The glass was broken and replaced with mismatched plexiglass, the door bell doesn't work, we put a deadbolt in, matching it as closely as possible to the door handle metal, the door itself needs to be painted or varnished, or something, and the metal screen (soon to be replaced with a wooden one) needed the screening reset. So that means we've finished half the tasks? Almost? I need to take nicer photos of our newly cleaned house before I show you anymore photos.
Goodnight,
Jenny

P.S. I apologize for the horrible run-on sentence. It's late, and I'm tired.

Welcome to our restoration blog!

Hello, and Welcome!
For those of you who haven't seen the posts on my other blog
saddles and stitches
my husband and I recently purchased a brick colonial home built in 1821. The house has 'good bones' but most recently has seen years of neglect. We have dove headfirst into the process of restoring this home to it's previous glory, and in the process are learning about the history of the family that built it, and also of the town we are now a part of. Being that my husband, Peter, is much more handy than I, he will be handling much of the hard labor. I'll be blogging about it! Hopefully in the process I will also learn to take a decent photo.
Toodles for now!
